Emporio Armani is a more youthful inspired Armani line which is targeted towards younger adults. The line was created and designed by Giorgio Armani. This line grew with popularity in the 1980’s when Richard Gere wore his suits in the film American Gigolo. Today, Armani is Italy’s most successful fashion designer. His red-carpet creations are luxe and opulent, while retaining the sober understatement that helped build his name. In short, a balancing act of luxury and restraint make his high-powered clientele such as Cate Blanchett, Katie Holmes, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jay-Z, and Beyoncé Knowles wear his designs on the red carpet. Products encompassed by this brand include ready-to-wear clothes, sunglasses, perfume, accessories and watches. The line is considered a "bridge line" as it features higher-end products than Armani Exchange or Armani Jeans but is not as expensive in price as the exclusive Armani Collezioni (also known as the “black label”) lines.
