Stella McCartney

Brand

Stella McCartney is a fashion line created by Stella McCartney herself. Stella McCartney became interested designing clothes at age 12, when she made her first jacket. Three years later, she interned for Christian Lacroix and then Savile Row. She later went on to study fashion design in London, garnering plenty of attention at her 1995 graduation show where her designs were modeled by her friends Naomi Campbell, Yasmin Le Bon and Kate Moss. This event made front page news and her career took off from there. Since then she has worked at several fashion houses such as Chloé and Gucci. However, she left Chloé, to develop her own label as part of the Gucci Group and opened her New York store in 2002.  Since then, McCartney has launched joint-ventures with companies such as Adidas, H&M, Target, LeSportsac, and most recently Gap. Her line blends sweet elements like pastel silks and ribbons with street-worthy rocker accents and all her clothes are animal-free as she is an advocate for PETA.
