Brand
Revlon is a cosmetics line founded in 1932 by Charles Revson and his brother Joseph Revson, along with a chemist, Charles Lachman, who contributed the "L" in the Revlon name. The line began with a single product—a new type of nail enamel which grew to be successful in salons. In 1937, Revlon started selling polishes in department stores and drug stores. The company grew quickly and by 1940, offered an entire manicure line, and added lipstick to the collection. Currently, Revlon uses female celebrities to promote their products. Previous models have included Kate Bosworth, Jaime King, Halle Berry, Jessica Alba and Jessica Biel. In 2009, Australian supermodel Elle MacPherson became a new spokesmodel for the company. The line continues to be successful today.
