Clarins is a French cosmetics company that specializes in skincare products and fragrances. The Clarins brand portfolio also includes Azzaro, Thierry Mugler, and Clarins Men. The company, which is family owned, was founded by medical student, Jacques Courtin-Clarins,  in 1954. At the beginning of the 1970s, the company started to spread internationally with its first exclusive contracts. The first subsidiary company in the United States was created in January of 1981. Clarins is known for products which are made of an expert blend of pure plant extracts and advanced technology. The son of the company founder, Christian Courtin-Clarins, has been the chairman of Clarins since 2000.
