Givenchy

Brand

Givenchy is a French brand of clothing, accessories, perfumes and cosmetics which was founded by Hubert de Givenchy in 1952, as a line of simple, light separates. It is owned by LVMH and is the second largest apparel division of LVMH after Dior. Givenchy as a line is known for its more modern, ladylike styles which resonated with fashion icons such as Audrey Hepburn. This created a legendary designer/muse relationship that spanned forty years as she became the face of his first perfume, L’Interdit, as well as the first actress to sell a scent. By 1976, the brand included fabrics, furnishings, shoes, jewelry, and a Ford Lincoln Continental. Givenchy joined LVMH in 1988.
