Fendi Brand
- Official Website www.fendi.com
Fendi is an Italian fashion house best known for its "baguette" handbags. It was launched in 1925 by Edoardo Fendi and Adele Fendi. Originally, the company began as a furrier and leather-goods shop but eventually turned into a multinational luxury goods brand owned by LVMH where Karl Lagerfeld serves as the creative director. After the founders passed, the business was handed down to their five daughters until Karl Lagerfeld came aboard to share designing duties in 1965. He was responsible for launching the house’s ready-to-wear lines in 1977, creating glamorous womenswear and classically tailored menswear. Fendi consistently produces some of the world’s most coveted “it-bags,” including the “baguette” (designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi) which debuted in the nineties and remains a hot commodity to this day. The line not only produces clothing and handbags but fragrances, watches and eyewear as well. The double-F logo was created by Lagerfeld in the sixties. Fendi is also known for its dramatic extravagance: In the fall of 2007, Lagerfeld staged a fashion show atop the Great Wall of China.
