Rag & Bone is a clothing line founded by Marcus Wainwright and David Neville in 2002 in Kentucky. The line began when Wainwright and Neville couldn’t seem to find a decent pair of jeans. A few years after the company’s launch, the menswear line was created in Spring 2004 as was the women’s a few seasons later in Fall of 2005. The Fall/Winter 2007 season marked the introduction of rag & bone accessories for both men and women. The line focuses on craftsmanship and attention to detail, and it is these principles that have become the keystones of rag & bone. Additionally, all of their manufacturing is done in U.S. factories. Today, with Wainwright as the designer and Neville handling the business end of things, the brand has grown to include children’s clothes, accessories, and shoes in its own West Village stand-alone shop as well as retail boutiques.
