Elie Saab

Brand

Elie Saab is a fashion label created by Elie Saab which launched in 1982. Saab has been a leading name in haute couture in the Middle East for his romantic crystal-encrusted gowns which herald a feminine aesthetic full of brightly colored silks, chiffons, pearl beading, and embroidered lace. In 1997 Saab showed his first collection outside Lebanon in Rome, and in 1998 he started his ready-to-wear collection in Milan. That same year, he held a fashion show in Monaco which was attended by Princess Stéphanie of Monaco. Additionally, he was the first Lebanese designer to dress an Oscar winner, Halle Berry, in 2002. His creations can be found all over the world, with boutiques located in Beirut and Paris. Saab gowns can also be seen on the Hollywood red carpet to celebrities such as Catherine Zeta-Jones, Elizabeth Hurley and Angelina Jolie. In May 2003, the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture invited him to become a member, and he showed his first haute couture collection in Paris in July of 2003. The first Elie Saab ready-to-wear Spring/Summer 2006 collection debuted in Paris as well.
