Target is an American retail company that was founded in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1902 as the Dayton Dry Goods Company. The first Target store opened in Roseville, Minnesota in 1962. Target is currently is one of the largest retailers in the United States. The company carrie regular products and goods, as well as clothing, and a limited amount of groceries, mostly non-perishable. Specifically, Target stores carry clothing, shoes, jewelry, health and beauty products, electronics, compact discs, bedding, kitchen supplies, sporting goods, toys, pet supplies, automotive supplies, and hardware supplies. Just recently Target has played a vital role in the fashion world by teaming up with some of the most well known and sought after designers who have created lines for Target each season. This collection is known as “GO International” which has acted as a creative collaboration between emerging designers and Target, offering affordable trendy fashion to its customers. Some of these collaborations have been with labels such as Anna Sui, Luella and Alexander McQueen.
