Rick Owens is an American fashion designer and member of the CFDA. Originally from Southern California, Owens began his label in the early nineties after dropping out of art school. In 2001, Vogue sponsored Owens’ first runway show, the following year he was awarded the CFDA New Talent Award. In 2003, Owens moved to Paris on account of him becoming the Artistic Director of Revillon. Owens also has a passion for furniture design, prompting the debut of his furniture collection in 2005. In 2006, Owens opened up a boutique in Paris named, Jardins Du Palais, the following year he began a fur collection under the same name.  His designs won him awards including the  National Design award. In July of 2008, The Rick Owens Store opened in New York City. Currently, Rick continues to design and live in Paris, France.
