Anna Wintour is the Editor-in-Chief of Vogue. Wintour entered fashion journalism in 1970 when Harper’s Bazaar merged with Queen magazine and she became Junior Fashion Editor. Later that year, she became the Fashion Editor at Viva until the publication folded 1979. In 1980 she became the Fashion Editor of Savvy and moved on to New York Magazine. Three years later, Wintour became the Ceative Director of Vogue and moved to Vogue British in 1986. Two years later, she returned to Vogue where she became Editor-in-Chief. It was Wintour’s leadership and classic sense of creativity that has helped the magazine thrive even two decades after her time with the publication. In 2005, Wintour’s legacy and reputation received recognition from the novel turned movie, “The Devil Wears Prada,” written by Wintour’s former personal assistant Lauren Weisberger. Most recently, Wintour was featured in the documentry “The September Issue: Anna Wintour and the Making of Vogue”. Wintour has made herself into one of the most powerful people in the realm of fashion; she is truly a legend in the industry.
