Born in Shanghai Shi (Shanghai Shi), Shanghai, China, CN
In 1995, Juan started to study ballet in the prestigious Shanghai Academy of Dance. However, Juan eventually grew too tall to find a dancing partner. Standing at 5’10, she participated in the Ford Models Supermodel Competition in 1999 and won first place in the East China region. In 2003, she won the title of Miss China and in 2004, Juan quit ballet to become a full-time model. She signed with IMG Models in 2005. In Sept. 2005, Juan was featured on the premier issues of Vogue China, alongside other top Chinese models and Gemma Ward. In 2005 and 2006, Juan made her runway debut walking for prominent designers such as Alexander McQueen, Custo Barcelona, United Bamboo, Valentino, and Jean Paul-Gaultier. Her experience on the runway only grew from then on including Dries van Noten to Christian Dior to Oscar de la Renta. Since 2006, when Du was featured on Style.com’s Top Ten Models, she has worked in many print ads and campaigns for fashion brands such as the GAP, Swarovski, Roberto Cavalli, Louis Vuitton, and Yves Saint Laurent. In 2008, Juan replace Agyness Deyn as the face of Giorgio Armani.
