Kate Mulleavy is an American designer and co-founder of Rodarte. Founded in Pasadena in 2005, Rodarte is ran by  Kate and her sister Laura. The first collection that Rodarte designed appeared on the February 2005 cover of Women’s Wear Daily. That year, the brand was awarded the Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation Award, and in the fall of 2006, it was the runner-up in the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund competition. The line has been worn by familiar faces such as Natalie Portman, Michelle Obama, Chloe Sevigny, and Reese Witherspoon. Rodarte is carried by retailers including Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, and Barney’s. The brand has been embraced by fashion editors the world over;  it's been featured on the cover of more than 20 international publications including Vogue.
