Crystal Renn began her modeling career when she was just 14. After being advised to lose 10-inches from her hips a determined Renn began a dark path of anorexia and bulimia, dropping nearly 90 pounds. In 2003, after starving herself for almost 3 years, Renn had an epiphany and decided to regain control of her body and life. In July of 2003, Renn met with Gary Dakin of Ford Models to educate herself on the world of plus size modeling. Renn signed with Ford Models in the 12+ division and became an instant success. As a plus size model Renn has worked with top photographers including Steven Meisel, Ellen Von Unwerth, and Patrick Demarchelier. She has appeared in numerous publications including Vogue, Vogue Italia, i-D, Elle, and Glamour. In 2005, Jean Paul Gaultier personally requested Renn to close his Spring/Summer runway show in Paris. Renn’s career continues to rise as she stars in campaigns for Dolce & Gabbana and Mango. In September of 2009, Crystal Renn published a book titled, Hungry, documenting her life as a model and her body image. Since the book’s release she has appeared on The Today Show, The View, and Oprah.
