Peter Beard is a photographer, artist, diarist and writer represented by Art + Commerce.  Beard attended Yale University where he majored in art history.  Beard’s photographs of Africa and African animals have been published since the 1970s.  He has also captured some of the world’s most well known faces including Andy Warhol, Jackie Onassis and Bianca Jagger. In 1999, he published Peter Beard:  50 Years of Portraits, in which he documents Africa, the New York art scene, the fashion world, Hollywood and the Kennedy Administration.  Beard has several publications of his work including Beyond the Edge of the World (1999), The End of the Game (1965), Eyelids of Morning (1973), Longing for Darkness (1975) and Stress and Density (199).
