Calvin Klein was born in the Bronx, New York on November 19, 1942. After dropping out of fashion technology institute, Klein started his first clothing line in 1968. Since then, the Calvin Klein brand has expanded into Calvin Klein Fragrance, ck Calvin Klein, ck Calvin Klein Eyewear, Calvin Klein Collection, Calvin Klein Jeans, ck Calvin Klein Watches, ck Calvin Klein Jeans, Calvin Klein Body, ck Calvin Klein Jewelry, ck Calvin Klein Beauty, Calvin Klein Underwear, Calvin Klein Collection Menswear, Calvin Klein White Label, Calvin Klein Sport and Calvin Klein Golf.   Calvin Klein has been the recipient of 7 Council of Fashion Designers of America awards, including a Lifetime Achievement award. For his ability to consistently lead the marketplace in new directions, Klein was also awarded with the President’s Medal from the Art Director’s Club for his outstanding creative achievement in the advertising industry. Calvin Klein Inc. was sold in 2003 to Phillips Van Heusen Corporation. Klein was retained to consult the company for 3 years following.
