Catherine Malandrino was born in Grenoble, France, and began her fashion career under designers including Emanuel Ungaro and Louis Ferraud. In 1998, Malandrino moved to New York City and became head designer for Diane von Fursetenberg. In 1998, she started her own label, Catherine Malandrino Collection as well as Catherine Malandrino Limited Edition in 2002. Malandrino’s collections are known for a parallel of energy from New York and romance of Paris. Malandrino’s designs are sold exclusively at specialty stores around the world such as Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, and Saks Fifth Avenue, and have a wide celebrity clientele including Madonna, Halle Berry, Julia Roberts, Mary-Kate Olsen, and Ashley Olsen.
