Photographer David Bailey began his career in the 1950s as an apprentice at a little known studio in his native London. Within a year, he was contracted by Vogue British to photograph editorials. Through his work at the legendary fashion magazine, Bailey’s connections with fashion and celebrity grew until he himself became synonymous with London’s Swinging Sixties scene. His celebrity status carried him through the rest of his career as a fashion and celebrity photographer.
