Arthur Elgort is an American photographer and filmmaker. A New York City native, Elgort attended Hunter College where he originally studied painting but after finding it too lonely made the switch to photography. Arthur took special interest in photographing the arts specializing in ballerinas and jazz musicians. In 1971, he entered the fashion world by shooting for Vogue British. To date, Elgort has photographed for publications including Vogue, Glamour, and GQ as well as shot campaigns for Chanel, Valentino, and Yves Saint Laurent. He has published numerous books about his career over the years, and currently shoots for Vogue.
