Esteemed designer, Alexander Wang, quickly climbed up the fashion ladder. Born on May 17, 1984, the San Francisco native went to Parsons to study fashion design, but dropped out, launching his first full women’s collection in 2007. In 2008, Wang won the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award, accompanied by the $20,000 purse, which helped immensely to expand his business. A year later, he then began designing a diffusion line called “T by Alexander Wang” along with a footwear collection. In 2010, the designer’s label continued to skyrocket with the announcement of another CFDA Award nomination for Womenswear Designer of the Year. Wang is known for his edgy and tailored “M.O.D” (Model Off-Duty) looks. Known to have a large fan-base of models and celebrities, women such as Megan Fox, Mary-Kate Olsen, Nicole Richie, Gwyneth Paltrow and Erin Wasson all can be seen wearing one of Wang’s loose-fitting shirt or the famous studded duffle bag.
