Adriana Lima is a well known fashion model from Brazil. At the age of 15, she entered the Ford Models Supermodel of Brazil search, winning first place. In 1996, she entered the Ford Supermodel of the World contest and placed second. The following year, Lima moved to New York to pursue her career and signed with Elite Model Management. In September of 1997, Lima made her runway debut at the Anna Sui show. Her portfolio grew quickly thereafter and she began modeling for Victoria’s Secret and now is most notably known as a Victoria’s Secret Angel and a spokesmodel for Maybelline. Lima has also walked the international runways for Vera Wang, Fendi, and Alexander McQueen just to name a few. In April 2006, GQ featured her on the cover and the issue became the best selling of that year. Lima is often named one of the world’s sexiest women as she is often mentioned in magazines and websites ranking her in their top lists such as FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women, People magazine’s 100 Most Beautiful People, and Maxim’s Hot 100. Lima is also listed in 2009 Guinness Book of World Records as the youngest model in Forbes’ Celebrity 100 List.
