Photographer Steven Meisel was born in 1954, and his fascination with beauty began soon after. At a young age, he began drawing women, and would review issues of Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar for inspiration. Meisel studied at the High School of Art and Design before attending Parsons The New School for Design. He emulated photographers like Irving Penn, Richard Avedon, and Bert Stern. For decades since, Meisel has been one of the most powerful fashion photographers in the business. He's shot countless campaigns for the likes of Versace, Prada, Dior, and Balenciaga. Working with Meisel has put dozens of others on the map; Pat McGrath, Garren, Orlando Pita, all owe their inital success to the attention and admiration they gained from having worked with Meisel.
