While many models are discovered randomly by a modeling agent, Irina Kulikova was discovered not just by an IMG agent, but also by actress and model Liv Tyler. This Cinderella story started in 2006 when Kulikova was eating at a restaurant in Moscow with her mother, was approached by Tyler, and then immediately flown to New York for fashion week. With her immensely long legs and runway strut, Kulikova quickly gained notoriety in the fashion world. Kulikova was born on August 6, 1991 in Slobodsk, Russia. A year after her discovery, she became one of the most talked about and busiest models. She becomes a favorite for Teen Vogue, appearing in their editorials numerous times. During fall/winter 2007 fashion week, she debuted at the Calvin Klein show, opened the Prada show, and closed the Louis Vuitton and Yves Saint Laurent shows. Moreover, she was featured in many magazines and websites as one of the top newcomers and rising stars. She also appeared in Vogue Italia’s infamous July 2007 “Rehab” editorial, in which she modeled as recent rehab attendants such as Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears. Additionally, Kulikova signed a contract to model for the iconic Marc Jacobs Daisy advertising campaign. 2008 was another busy year for Kulikova, in which she opened and closed various runway shows and became the faces of Jil Stuart and Céline. In 2010, she became the face of Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti. Kulikova has changed dramatically since when she was first discovered in 2006. She is currently one of the most popular figures featured on the runways and in magazines. Amazingly, this is just the early chapters of her career.
