Born in Paris (Paris), France, FR
Carine Roitfeld is the former Editor-In-Chief of Vogue Paris. She was born on September 19, 1954, in Paris. At 18, she was scouted on the streets of her hometown and began modeling shortly thereafter. However, being in front of the camera held little interest for Roitfeld; she later transtioned into fashion writing and eventually became a well-respected stylist for ELLE French. Roitfeld made a name for herself in the fashion industry for her shrewd eye and determination to push the envelope- exploring lines, textures, and subject matter. Now a style icon in her own right, Roitfeld's expertise has been requested by many major fashion houses for both inspiration and guidance; she's worked as a consultant and muse for Tom Ford at Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent . Roitfeld has also contributed to the images of Gucci, Missoni, Versace, Yves Saint Laurent, and Calvin Klein.
