Daul Kim was born in Seoul, Korea on May 31, 1989. She first began modeling in Korea, with appearances in several Vogue Korea editorials in 2006. The following year, she made her international runway debut and walked for Chanel and Dries van Noten. Since her runway debut, Kim has walked for an extensive list of prominent designers, as well as appeared in the pages of dozens of leading fashion publications. In 2007, she held a solo exhibit of her own paintings in her native, Seoul. In 2008, Japanese fashion magazine Anan, named her Model of the Year Kim passed away November 19, 2009, in her Paris apartment.
