Joe Zee was born in Hong Kong on November 23, 1968 and moved to Toronto at the age of two.  In high school he adored fashion magazines and was inspired by pop culture.  In 1990, he moved to New York to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology.  Zee’s first job after graduation was at Allure magazine where he worked for three years.  He worked at Details and House and Garden as a contributing fashion editor as well as an associate fashion editor at W and the editor-in-chief at Vitals.
