In July 1995, John Galliano became the head designer of Givenchy by Benard Arnault, making him the first British designer to head of a French fashion house. Two years later, he moved from Givenchy to Christian Dior. Galliano was awarded British designer of the year in 1987, 1994 and 1995. In 1997, he shared the title with designer Alexander McQueen. Currently, between his own label and Dior, Galliano produces six couture and ready-to-wear collections per year, including a mid-season line under his own name “G Galliano.” Galliano has admitted to relying on his strict workouts to clear his head for inspiration for new collections. He's known for his exceptional tailoring and attention for detail.
