Linda Evangelista had always hoped to become a model. When she relocated to New York, she signed with Elite Model Management, and quickly became the cover model for numerous fashion magazines and the star of many campaigns. She was referred as one-third of the trio group, “The Trinity,” which included Naomi Campbell and Christy Turlington. Today, she is recognized as one of the first few models that made an established career, exceeding expectations. Evangelista’s first campaign was when she became the face of Nina Ricci and Guy Laroche in 1984. She has come a long way since then, modeling for the likes of Versace, Donna Karan, Revlon, Yves Saint Laurent and many more. In 2007, she signed a multiple year exclusive contract with L’Oréal, followed by an international campaign for Prada. Evangelista has been on the covers of countless high-fashion publications such as Vogue, W, Harper’s Bazaar, V and Mixte, among others. Evangelista is an ambassador for M.A.C. cosmetics, promoting the companies Viva Glam product which raises money to global AIDS fund. In acknowledgement to her help, AID for AIDS honored her with an annual HERO Award in 2005.
